PAST PROGRAMS

THE ATHENA PROGRAM

From July 5 to August 3, 2024, The Monarch will launch its official opening and debut exhibition as an emerging art gallery in the South. Its first program, dubbed as ATHENA,  will be centered on the mythology of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare, and civilization. The gallery space will showcase a collection of works from artists that personify Athena’s multifaceted characters.

Main artists Lydia Velasco, Helena Alegre, and Coeli Manese are the highlights of ATHENA, along with supporting artists Ioannis Sicuya and Jessie Falalimpa. This is also the debut exhibition of Andie Jaro, Jet Tan, Ez Arce, and Marlon Asparen, as The Monarch’s first exclusive artist collective: Pulang Lupa.

Furthermore, Art Agenda, an international art gallery from Indonesia, has teamed up with The Monarch in an effort to broaden focus through regional and international affinities, by showcasing the works of Filipino master artist Nena Saguil and Indonesian master artist Umi Dachlan.

THE ATLAS PROGRAM

As the king with the golden touch steps down, a titan rises, wearing strength as a crown. The stars above him blaze with endless grace as Atlas holds the heavens in their place. The world spins on, his power ever true. A god whose greatness lights the skies anew.

This titan’s power echoes the myth of Atlas, who held the heavens in place, his influence lighting up the universe. The program will celebrate artists whose works reflect his strength and grandeur.

We are thrilled to welcome back the talented artists Isah Rodillo, Richard Buxani, and Life Dawn Cervero, alongside the exceptional Raeche Dacanay, exhibiting at The Monarch for the first time!

Together, they will embody the strength and resilience of Atlas in a truly unforgettable exhibit, marking the final chapter of the 2024 art programs inspired by the Greek gods and goddesses.

THE PISCES PROGRAM

The PISCES PROGRAM, featuring talented artists Isah Rodillo, Rica Cena, Summer Pasana, and Marlon Asparen, will explore the sign’s compassion, imagination, and spirituality. Also drawing inspiration from the romantic spirit of Venice, Italy, it reflects Pisces’ soulful, intuitive nature, guiding guests to explore their inner worlds with sensitivity and depth.

THE ARIES PROGRAM

The ARIES PROGRAM, featuring talented artists Rai Cruz, SoMA Creative Circle, Lucian Arcos, and Patricia Ann, will explore the sign’s courage, leadership, and action. Also drawing inspiration from the dynamic and innovative energy of Berlin, Germany, it reflects Aries' boldness, pioneering spirit, and drive, encouraging guests to embrace their inner strength and take decisive action.

THE TAURUS PROGRAM

Rooted in strength, stability, and patience, the Taurus Program is a group exhibit that honors the steadfast essence of the Taurus zodiac. Showcasing the works of Maribel Villarmia, Bim Gutierrez, Aldron Anchinges, and Valerie Teng, the exhibit explores the grounded nature that defines this earth sign. Through diverse visual languages, each artist offers a unique interpretation of Taurus’ deep connection to the physical world.
